General Information for Distance Learning Students
-
On the bottom of CNM's Distance Learning Page you will find the Course Instructions your instructor has posted BEFORE classes start. Be sure to check your Course Instructions after registering, just in case there is anything the instructor needs you to do before the term begins.
-
Once you have registered, you can purchase your books online at CNM's virtual bookstore.
-
Also check the Computer Requirements to make sure your computer will work well with the Blackboard course system.
-
If you need any assistance regarding courses you should take to finish your degree, Academic Advisement can help you in-person or you can receive online advisement.
-
Got a technical problem using your online course? The Distance Learning Support Services Website is the place to go!
-
Need a little help with the class material? You can receive tutoring in-person at CNM's Tutoring Services or online tutoring with Smarthinking. You will need to enter your username: your complete CNM email address and the password: cnm. For more info click here.
-
With a list of just about everything you'll need while finding your course Student Services is a valuable resource.
-
Effective fall 2009, Course Overfill Cards (orange cards) will no longer be used at CNM. If your are trying to register for distance learning class that is full you will now have the option to be placed on a course waiting list. Students will be able to do this through the normal registration process in myCNM. Students will be contacted by e-mail if a spot in their desired class opens up and will have 24 hours to register. In addition, if a new section of the class is added, students will be contacted by phone. The waitlist will be in effect until the first day of class. For more information, students can go to the Registration/Grades tab in myCNM. Note: classes with special enrollment restrictions do not have waitlists.
-
Pay particular attention to the course instructions since the Attendance Policy is strictly enforced in all classes - even the online ones.
