Dual Credit Enrollment Process
New Dual Credit Students:
1. Learn about Dual Credit and Apply. New student enrollment checklist (183KB)
- Please print this guide to review the Dual Credit program with your high school counselor and parent/legal guardian before proceeding.
- Apply to CNM.
Online (US citizens with social security numbers)
> Complete the online admission process. Be sure to select 'Dual Credit' as
your admission type. View this online application tutorial for help.
Or apply in-person at any CNM Admissions Office
> Print the HS Aged Programs Admission Form and submit the completed
form to any CNM Admissions Office.
2. Before Registering.
- Create your myCNM student website. Use the student ID number you received during Admissions to set-up your myCNM student website. CNM sends registration and other important information to myCNM.
- Take CNM's Accuplacer for college level course placement or submit a copy of your ACT or SAT scores to CNM Admissions.
See a CNM advisor to review your testing outcome and discuss course options. - You must complete an online orientation.
- Plan your schedule.(90KB)
The Schedule of Classes is available approximately 2 weeks before Registration.
3. Register for classes.
- pre-Register online for your course(s) using your myCNM online student web site. Registration dates and times are posted in your myCNM website.
- Though you can pre-register for classes on-line, should your high school not approve the course, you may be dropped from the class. Bring your Dual Credit Request form and meet with your high school counselor to discuss your course selection. Dual Credit students can register for up to 18 credit hours per term and for courses numbered 1000 and above only. Students will be removed from courses numbered below 1000 and courses added after the 18 credit limit. Your school will have final approval for course selection each term.
- Submit your Dual Credit Request form to any CNM Admission or Registration office to confirm your high school and parent/legal guardian (if you are a minor) approval of your course selection. The courses you pre-registered for will be dropped if you do not submit a Dual Credit Request form.
- Pay any program fees that are due by the following business day after registering. You do not have to pay tuition or the registration fee. Out-of-district students must notify the Cashier's Office.
Continuing Dual Credit students: Returning student enrollment checklist (162KB)
- Registration information will be sent to you by CNM to your myCNM student web site. When you receive this information, print the Dual Credit Request form and bring it when you meet with your high school counselor to plan your courses for the next term.
- continue with step #3 above.
SPECIAL NOTE: Students no longer meeting eligibility requirements for high school aged-programs must reapply to CNM as a returning student.
