The U.S. Department of Education has implemented a new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) system and process for 2024. Please be aware that you may encounter challenges when filling out your FAFSA for the 2024-25 academic year that begins with the 2024 Fall Term.

The  2023-2024 FAFSA is currently available. The FAFSA for 2023-2024 will use information from the 2021 tax year. The 2023-2024 FAFSA will be used for the Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024 terms.

If you have completed the FAFSA but did not request that a record be sent to CNM, you can still do so.

  1. Login to the FAFSA site, click "Add or Delete a School Code" in the FAFSA Follow-Up Step 3 section.
  2. Add CNM's Federal School Code: 004742

Adding CNM's school code will ensure that your FAFSA is submitted to CNM automatically. 

Buy Textbooks With Financial Aid

Books and supplies can also be purchased with financial aid at any of the bookstore locations or online from the bookstore website.

FAFSA Help 

Our Student Success and Financial Aid Outreach teams are available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  If you need assistance completing the application with an outreach manager, make an appointment with a Financial Aid Outreach staff member.

What to bring:

  • Your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID 
  • Social Security Number(s) (Parents and Students)
  • Driver’s Licenses
  • Completed 2021/2022 tax forms. (in lieu of tax forms, W2s to assist with
    estimating income) Parent and students
  • Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
  • Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)

Virtual FAFSA Help on Money Mondays

Students and parents are welcome to receive FAFSA help by a professional Financial Aid officer and other volunteers from the surrounding area. Money Mondays are every Monday from 3 - 6 p.m., through May 20.
