The Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVACR) program will train you in operating and maintaining various types of HVACR and HVACR accessories.
You can earn a Residential Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Certificate of Completion and be ready to start your career in as little as two terms. By completing an additional term, you will earn a Commercial, Industrial HVAC & Building Performance Certificate of Completion. Both certificates are stackable credentials.
In under two years of full-time study (five terms), you can achieve an Associate of Applied Science degree in HVAC.

Residential HVAC, Certificate of Completion
With the Residential HVAC Certificate of Completion, you will have the basic knowledge and HVACR training to enter the Residential HVACR workforce.
Commercial, Industrial HVAC & Building Performance, Certificate of Completion
With the Commercial, Industrial HVAC & Building Performance Certificate of Completion, you will have an in-depth background in commercial and industrial refrigeration, steam and hot water boilers and boiler controls, chillers and chiller controls, green building performance, and building automation controls. In the course of completing the program, you will create system designs that will include calculating building loads, duct design, performance analysis, and code enforcement.

Additional Information for HVACR Students
- Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) saves students time and money on their degree or certificate program at CNM. If you have a valid OSHA certification, you can receive credit for courses in the HVACR program by filling out the OSHA Certifications Credit for Prior Learning Form.
- The CNM HVACR program prepares you for transfer to four-year institutions, providing a pathway to further study in HVACR or related fields.
