Program support plans are developed for programs designated Fix or Grow as a result of the CIPR program review. The goal of program support plans is to prioritize resources (staff, time, funding) to develop shared plans of support and targets with participation across the college – Academic Affairs, Ingenuity, EMSS, MCO, F&O, W&CS, and DEI.
Program support plans may include:
- Budget and data deep dives to understand the resources and costs associated with program success and help departments understand the factors that influence the economics of their programs, including staffing, class fill rates, and scheduling practices
- Marketing and recruitment strategies to increase enrollment
- Program design and student support strategies to increase persistence and graduation
- Workforce development/employer engagement strategies to increase enrollment, work-based learning (WBL) opportunities, and partnerships for increased student job placement
- Strategies to transition curriculum, personnel, assets, and operations to convert a credit program to a non-credit offering, or vice versa to respond more effectively to industry and student demand.
The Aviation Maintenance Program was given a Fix rating based on low enrollment over a number of terms. The program’s support plan focused on this issue and allowed us to directly request marketing assistance. As a result, MCO was able to prioritize this program for marketing, which resulted in full Aviation Maintenance first-term classes in Fall 2022.
