Dean of Students

The Dean of Students Office assists and supports students with issues related to maintaining a safe and positive educational community in a learner-focused environment.

The Dean of Students Office is responsible for assisting and supporting both students and faculty/staff members with issues related to maintaining a safe and positive educational community in a learner-focused environment.

Part of this effort includes both protecting the individual and group freedoms of students while ensuring the responsibilities of citizenship are upheld.

Maintaining the balance between rights and responsibilities requires that order and stability are created on campus through established codes and policies designed to define behavioral standards and procedural expectations related to those standards.

We are also responsible for promoting and encouraging you, as a CNM student, to be involved on campus and to develop social and leadership skills which will enhance your classroom learning and contribute to your overall personal, professional and academic growth and success. Both experience and training tell us that what determines success for CNM students can best be captured in the words … community involvement!

All the things that you do as a student to be involved with campus life and with your academic experience will contribute tremendously to your success as a student. We encourage you to talk one-on-one with a classmate about that day’s lecture, to visit individually with your instructor about an assignment, to work with a study group for one of your classes, and to choose a student organization outside of class to be involved with.

So, whether you need direction or guidance regarding those things related to student rights, citizenship, and behavior – or you want to know how to become involved with a student organization or join a club – you can browse the links to the left for additional information about:

  • Behavioral expectations of you as a student
  • The disciplinary process at CNM
  • How you should handle a concern or issue on campus
  • What opportunities exist for you to be involved on campus
