Behavioral Intervention Team

Supporting student success through prevention, intervention, and collaboration, the CNM Behavioral Intervention Team ensures timely, evidence-based responses to concerns within the campus community.

Mission

Our mission is to support the academic and personal success of our students through caring and evidence-based strategies, focusing on prevention and intervention.

Goals

  • Timely Review of Referrals: Assess referrals of concerning behavior from faculty, staff, and community members promptly. Referrals are received through the Student Care and Concern Reporting Form.
  • Collaborative Investigation and Response: Provide a thorough and coordinated investigation and response to student concerns.
  • Policy and Procedure Compliance: Balance federal, local, and campus policies and procedures while supporting student persistence and success.
  • Outcome Statements and Service Connection: Draft outcome statements that may connect students to necessary services both on and off campus.
  • Standardized Protocols: Establish standardized protocols for communication, response, coordination, and intervention.
  • Follow-Up: In collaboration with Student Life staff, provide appropriate follow-up to ensure continued support for students.
