General Appeals
You can request an exception to CNM policy if you experience special circumstances beyond your control.
Appeal Process
Appeal decisions may take up to six weeks.
A decision notification will be sent to your CNM email.
If your request is approved, and you are expecting a refund, please allow an additional 3-5 business days for processing.
All committee decisions are final.
To submit an appeal, complete the General Appeal Form and attach relevant supporting documentation.
Without supporting documentation, your appeal may be denied.
Records Grade Appeal
- Seeking to retroactively withdrawal, change grade, or change grade mode due to missing the published deadline.
Tuition Refund Appeal
- You are requesting a refund, or cancellation of your remaining balance, for classes you dropped after the refund period
- Note: Repayment of Pell/Loans and/or bookstore charges cannot be waived
Academic Suspension Appeal
- You are requesting to return to CNM before your suspension period (one term or one year) is complete
- Note: We require that you meet with an advisor before you file your appeal
Residency Appeal
- You had a tuition residency petition denied by CNM and are requesting to have the decision reconsidered due to special circumstances
- Appeals may be considered for adjustment of status for previous term(s)
