The Data Communications Infrastructure Networking team specializes in designing, deploying, and managing the organization's network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient connectivity across all CNM Campuses. With expertise in network protocols, security practices, and performance optimization, this team manages key components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, as well as collaboration tools like the phone system. Their responsibilities include monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions that minimize downtime and maintain high availability. By following industry best practices and employing cutting-edge tools, the Infrastructure Team supports seamless communication, data transfer, and secure access, ensuring the organization’s technological backbone operates smoothly and supports overall productivity for our students, faculty, and staff. They also manage a large number of contractors who provide equipment, installations, and troubleshooting for these systems. The CNM IT Enterprise infrastructure extends to 10 campus locations around Albuquerque, with more than 10,000 computing devices, 400 enterprise software packages, and 5,000 telephones.
