Standard Desktop Support Services

ITS Desktop Support provides various services in support of computers and software used by students, faculty, and staff throughout CNM.

Computer Setup

We set up and configure CNM computer systems with a current operating system, standard software, accounts, and settings. This provides a standard, consistent, secure computing environment for students, faculty, and staff. 

Software Installation & Licensing

CNM maintains a vast software library for use on CNM owned equipment. For more information on software availability and installation, please contact the ITS Service Desk.

Computer Troubleshooting

Having an issue with your computer? We can help diagnose and resolve computer issues. Submit a request to the ITS Service Desk and provide the following information:

  • Contact Information
  • Current location (Campus, Building, and Room).
  • Computer Tag #
  • A detailed description of the issue you are experiencing.
  • Any additional information or screenshots relevant to the issue.

Managed Services

ITS Desktop Support uses remote management tools to deliver efficient service, increase computer security, and provide self-service options for CNM owned Windows and Mac computers. Managed computer support is an extension of the services available in Standard Desktop Services.

Adobe Software

Adobe Creative Cloud for Higher Ed: Available for use on all CNM campuses.

Adobe Spark for Higher Ed: Available for student use off-campus.

Google Console

Used to manage the Chromebooks and Chrome boxes on all CNM campuses. 

Image Management Test Plans (IMTP)

A collaborative process to ensure students have the software needed within all CNM classrooms and computer labs.

Meraki

CNM's mobile device management (MDM) software used to coordinate software and application installs for all mobile device operating systems.

System Center Configuration Manager

Microsoft SCCM allows our techs to remotely manage and configure CNM owned desktops and laptops.

  • Operating Systems
  • Operating systems are installed remotely over CNM's network to managed computers.
  • Desktop support will schedule a time with the customer before an image is scheduled to run on the computer.
  • Software Install
  • Standard software is installed remotely over CNM's network to managed computers.
  • Additional software installs are available to Faculty & Staff through the Microsoft Software Center.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

VDI is the management of CNM's Virtual Environment offering software and hardware emulation. Engineered to the highest specifications to offer hundreds of virtual desktops to the CNM community with the capability of running thousands of software applications at the same time.
