Executive Council of Students (ECOS)

The Executive Council of Students (ECOS) is CNM's student government organization.

Purpose

  • Promote student community by gathering and disseminating information regarding student leadership opportunities, Executive Council of Students activities and projects, and other student-related issues
  • Implement projects that promote awareness of student programs, clubs, student success, and safety
  • Represent student issues to administration, faculty, and staff
  • Develop and improve internal policies that affect the student body
  • Develop scholarship and funding through outreach to state and local legislative structures, New Mexico colleges and universities, and other groups interested in funding student scholarships
  • Network with other colleges/universities to share information and exchange ideas

Joining ECOS

To join ECOS, you must:

  • Complete the online ECOS Application
  • Have at least one Recommendation Letter from a current or previous instructor, faculty member, CNM staff member, or any community member who can attest to your leadership abilities and/or potential as a student directly emailed to [email protected]
  • Attend at least two meetings
  • Be in “good standing” with CNM

ECOS Meetings

Spring 2025 meetings will take place Tuesdays from 9 - 10 a.m. in the KW Building, Room 220 and virtually via Microsoft Teams with the link below. 

Please note: ECOS will not meet on January 28 due to the Suncat Days event in the SB Lobby, where ECOS members will be available to chat. Join us if you can!
