CNM Ingenuity Prop and Film Resources Helps Set the Scene in Red Carpet Theater Experience at New Mexico State Fair

The New Mexico State Fair is in full swing – and this year’s theme of “fair famous” presented the perfect opportunity to highlight CNM Ingenuity’s industry resources as well as the CNM programs that feed into the film industry ranging from cosmetology to film technician. 

“My hope for everyone who visits our exhibit in the Red Carpet Theater is that they will leave knowing that there is a growing demand in the film industry and that CNM and CNM Ingenuity programs are available and ready to help serve our state,” says Zach Tubb, Operations Technician for the Prop House. 

In the Red Carpet Theater Exhibit, located in the Manuel Lujan Jr. Exhibit Complex at the fairgrounds, visitors can have a mini-red carpet experience including getting their hair and makeup done, walking down the red carpet, and then taking photos in a zombie graveyard or Western scene that feature props available at the CNM Ingenuity Prop House. Additionally, CNM Cosmetology students have had the opportunity to partner with industry pros in the hair and makeup trailer. 

For Zach, the theme of this year’s fair couldn’t be more appropriate as the film industry continues to expand in New Mexico.

“Having this exhibit at the fair this year is such an important showcase of the film industry in our state,” he says. “The film industry has been here for a long time, and it’s exciting that we get to show the past, present, and future for the film industry through this exhibit, and I know that CNM and CNM Ingenuity are the forefront of the future.”

The New Mexico State Fair runs from September 7-17, and the Red Carpet Theater is open every day of the fair.
