CNM Reorganizes Structure and Names of Academic Schools
CNM’s Academic Affairs Division has completed a major reorganization of the academic schools and their support structure to create better alignment and clearer pathways for students and the community, as well as the industries our programs support.
Academic Affairs (AA) collaborated with the Division of Workforce & Community Success to ensure that the reorganization supports student work opportunities and accommodates future needs for creating new in-demand programs, both credit and non-credit. AA also collaborated with the Division of Enrollment Management & Student Success to identify opportunities for better alignment to improve student success. As part of this effort, the Assistance Centers for Education and the Libraries are moving to EMSS.
The associate dean roles have also been redefined. With more associate deans in place, they will oversee smaller clusters of programs to better support faculty and student needs; focus on student success and retention in each cluster; increase efforts on faculty mentoring and continuing education; collaborate with faculty and students to strengthen academic performance; increase agility in programs to respond to community and industry needs.
The dean roles have also been redefined to include collaborating more with the Division of Workforce & Community Success to enhance job placement and workforce development. The deans will also focus on student success areas related to retention, persistence, completion and transfer.
