CNM Students Take Home 18 Medals in SkillsUSA New Mexico Competition
Last Friday CNM hosted over 300 career and technical education (CTE) students as they competed in this year’s SkillsUSA New Mexico Competition. The event had 38 career competitions in a number of CTE fields including aviation maintenance, culinary arts, and welding. Among those who participated, 22 were from CNM including two dual credit students.
CNM has a long tradition of success at the event and this year was no different. In total, CNM’s students won 18 medals, including 11 gold, five silver, and two bronze. The gold medalists will now have the honor of representing CNM and New Mexico at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, which will take place June 20-24 in Atlanta.
SkillsUSA is a national organization that exists to promote the trades by bringing together students, educators, and industry leaders to support the development of a skilled workforce.
