Adult Basic Education

The Adult Basic Education program acknowledges and utilizes the experience, wisdom, and needs of adult learners to provide a pathway that can lead to success in college, careers, and the community. We offer non-credit courses in basic reading, writing, math, science, and social studies to prepare you for our English as a Second Language (ESL) program or the High School Equivalency exams. Each of the options below is offered in five-week courses at four different levels.

English as a Second Language 

CNM's English as a Second Language (ESL) program can help you improve your proficiency in English for professional, academic, or personal reasons. You will study reading, writing, speaking, listening, and US culture while acquiring the language and self-confidence to handle daily challenges. High School Equivalency

CNM's High School Equivalency (HSE) courses will prepare you for the General Education Development (GED) test or High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) so that you canto obtain a high school equivalency diploma. Our non-credit HSE courses are offered in language arts, math, science, and social studies, with Spanish instruction available for HSE language arts and math courses. Learn more about the HSE program.
