Program Information
The CNM Carpentry and Construction program provides you with the skills necessary to be employable in construction-related fields. Throughout your time in the program, you will have tangible, hands-on experience building a solid knowledge base of how the construction workflow progresses through the stages of a particular job. You will also be introduced to construction software you may encounter in the industry.

Get Credit for Prior Learning (CPL)
- If you have a valid OSHA certification, you can receive credit for courses in the Carpentry and Construction program by filling out the Credit for Prior Learning (OSHA) form.
- If you have a valid New Mexico General Building Contractor (GB 98 or GB 2) license, you can receive credit for a course in the Construction Technology (AAS) General Construction Concentration program by filling out the Credit for Prior Learning (General Building Contractor) form.

Construction Begins on New Trades Facility
The 61,000-square-foot facility will open in Fall 2025 and will house classroom and lab space for CNM’s Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Welding, and Industrial Automation Technology programs.
