What is My PACE?
CNM's My PACE is a Competency-Based Education (CBE) program that allows you to move at your own pace through each course instead of requiring a set length of time. While you will still take tests, write papers, and complete assignments, you’ll decide:
- when you are ready to take an assessment to demonstrate your mastery and
- when to start your next class — no need to wait for a new semester to start.
This allows a more personalized and adaptable way for you to complete your degree or certificate program.
CBE is perfect for you if you are ready to upskill for a current job, enter a new career with a strong foundation in a new industry, or earn a credential quickly using prior knowledge.

- Customize Your Schedule: Take as many classes as you can complete in each 14-week semester.
- Move at Your Own Pace: Accelerate or move at a more traditional pace depending on your knowledge level.
- Learn Critical Information: Our curriculum emphasizes career-relevant knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
- Focus on New Material: Earn an 'In-Progress' to continue learning new material in the next semester without losing your progress.
- Personalized Instruction: We provide custom feedback and a learning plan to CBE students for the best experience.
- Master the Course Content: Employers can trust your training, as CBE students must pass all competencies with a B or higher.
My PACE Pathways
CNM is committed to offering educational pathways that meet the needs of our students and workforce. The following pathways allow you to earn a certificate of completion while also preparing you for further studies in degree programs at CNM.
Please note: Students are required to have earned a High School Diploma or equivalent before starting the program.
