Are you passionate about social justice and the Chicana/o experience? CNM's Chicana and Chicano Studies program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that examines class, race, ethnicity, gender, and cultural expression. You’ll explore both historical and contemporary experiences of Chicanas/es/os/x in the Americas while developing a solid foundation in critical pedagogy.
This program not only prepares you for meaningful careers in social responsibility and social justice, but it also opens pathways for further education. You'll have the opportunity to participate in transfer and mentorship initiatives with the University of New Mexico’s Chicana and Chicano Studies Department, allowing you to seamlessly transition to a bachelor’s degree program. UNM collaborates with CNM to provide articulated credit and transfer guides, making your educational journey smoother.
Additionally, this program prepares you for advanced studies in fields such as community organizing, social work, history, linguistics, education, museum studies, and gender studies. Join us at CNM to deepen your understanding of the Chicana/o experience and make a meaningful impact in your community.

- The CNM Chicana and Chicano Studies program prepares you for transfer to four-year institutions. If you’re planning to transfer from CNM to UNM, the Extending Humanities Transfer Program can provide additional assistance.
