Program Information
Exercise Science, Associate of Applied Science
If you have a passion for helping people achieve optimal health through movement, CNM's Exercise Science degree program is for you. We provide high-quality instruction in liberal arts, sciences, and technical courses in the emerging and expanding field of Exercise Science.
CNM's instructors and courses prepare you for transfer to a four-year institution, where you can earn a bachelor's or graduate degree in Physical Education, Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or Health and Wellness.
Program graduates are also encouraged to sit for exams to earn nationally-accredited certifications in personal training and group exercise instruction. Earning these certifications enables you to increase your income and gain important experience in the Exercise Science field.
With a degree in Exercise Science, you can pursue a high-paying and rewarding career as a Health and Wellness Coach, Physical Therapist, Kinesiotherapist, Athletic Trainer, Exercise Physiologist, and more.
Further Studies
Fitness Certificate of Completion
The Fitness Certificate of Completion is a two-consecutive term program starting in the fall term with most students graduating after the following spring term. This program provides you with an opportunity to study anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and group exercise leadership skills.
You will be prepared to earn a nationally-recognized certification as a personal fitness trainer and/or group exercise instructor. After certification, you are ready for gainful employment as a health and wellness coach, personal fitness trainer, or group exercise instructor.
Become a Health and Wellness Coach
CNM's Weight Management and Exercise course provides you with the opportunity to study behavior-change science and the principles of lifestyle medicine as presented by the American Council on Exercise (ACE). You will learn practical and effective strategies to enhance nutrition and physical activity for optimal health and well-being.
Upon completion of the course, you will be prepared to take the ACE exam and become a Certified Health and Wellness Coach. For more information about the course, please reach out to a CNM Recruiter who can answer any questions you have.
