Intersession Courses

Intersession courses can help you lighten your course load for an upcoming semester, get ahead on your educational path, or catch up on your program requirements.

What is an Intersession Course?

During the regular break between terms, CNM offers a selection of classes in a condensed format. The classes will provide you with an opportunity to quickly complete a class in order to shorten your time to graduation.

What You Can Expect

  • A fast-paced course: the material covered in an intersession course will equal 1 day to 1 week in a regular course.
  • Online availability: 80% of the intersession courses are online, which means
    • you can work on your own schedule
    • you need reliable internet access

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Time and energy
    • Typical students need to devote 65 to 70 hours per week to the class.
    • You may only register for up to 4-credit hours during the intersession.
  • The drive to push through and do well.

Bookstore Deferments

Bookstore deferments are available for students who are enrolled in an intersession course, have a complete and awarded 2023-2024 FAFSA, and are currently in good academic standing for Financial Aid. If you have any questions or do not have a posted bookstore amount, please contact the Financial Aid office at (505) 224-3090.
