Groups
Students, faculty, and staff can join QCNM, CNM Q-Cats, or the LGBTQIA2S+ Advisory Committee to become a part of our community at CNM.
QCNM is a group for faculty and staff interested in increasing visibility of and support for LGBTQIA2S+ folks on campus. We typically aim to offer several social, educational, or development events per term. We also hold regular planning meetings, open to all LGBTQIA2S+ staff, faculty, and allies.
Queer Cats is the student club that works to provide a safe social and educational space for LGBTQIA2S+ students. We welcome a diverse population of ethnic, religious, political and cultural values while promoting understanding and acceptance for those marginalized as a result of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. We support a campus environment that is free from prejudice, harassment and violence.
The LGBTQIA2S+ Advisory Committee works to increase inclusive practices and policies for LGBTQIA2S+ students and employees at CNM. This committee advocates for and with the LGBTQIA2S+ communities and seeks to raise awareness about LGBTQIA2S+ topics and issues.
We offer members of the CNM community a point of contact for LGBTQIA2S+ matters, and we commit to listening to any concerns, questions, kudos, or other experiences CNM community members wish to share. Where community members are experiencing challenges, we resolve to try to help and to point them towards resources within the CNM institution. We also exist to establish allyship networks and support the other groups that make CNM a diverse place.
